About me

I have been an educator for nearly 30 years.

Having grown up in a small Northern California town, I traveled South to receive my own education at San Diego State University. From there I went on to teach grades 1-6 in San Diego Unified for most of my career. Being both GATE certified and an ESL teacher, I wanted to continue being an active part of children’s learning adventures. I discovered the joy of 1-1 tutoring as a way to offer students direct assistance, as well as, small group courses to enrich the lives of children further!

I value providing a mindful, fun, & encouraging atmosphere where each student can thrive being themselves.

It's an awesome challenge working with unique children - finding new ways to laugh while we learn, encouraging each other to do hard things, and grasping new concepts + learning habits that will inevitably last a lifetime.

And the best part for me - beyond watching young children safely explore and gain access to new worlds through books, stories, and lessons - is seeing how families are developed and strengthened as children learn while parents get a well deserved break.

When I am not teaching, you can find me with my wonderful family (2 grown daughters of my own!), practicing meditation and mindfulness , spending time in nature, and gardening in the backyard (where I hold my in-person tutoring sessions).

I'm so excited to work with you so please get in touch today!
